Community Code is a series of interactive stories of small business owners in the Evanston neighborhood. Each story is around 5-10 mins in length for experience and can be accessed by scanning a QR code.

Exhibition view during February 20 - March 28 at Evanston Art Center.

The project was inspired by a Facebook group that supports and promotes Evanston's businesses during the challenging pandemic time. I invited some small business owners from that group for interviews, and afterward, I made a story for each of them. Among them, some are over 30 years old business like Prairie Joe's, while some like Mack's Bikes and Goods just opened right before the March lockdown in 2020. They shared with me their background, business journeys, how they handle the pandemic. I used various media to create the story, such as audio, image, video, and LiDAR scanned models to make a unique and engaging experience for each of them.
